Educational Objectives and Requirements  

1. Educational Objectives

This major can meet the needs of national education, cultural development and society, develop in an all-round way in virtue, intelligence, body and beauty, master the basic theory, basic knowledge and basic skills of music and music education, be competent for the work of music classroom teaching practice, teaching research and management in primary and secondary schools, have strong learning ability, practical ability and teaching research ability, and promote traditional music culture And has the international vision and the cross-cultural exchange high quality music teacher.  

Graduates should obtain knowledge and competences as follows:

1Be familiar with the art policy of the communism and nation, and establish a correct outlook towards world, life and values, and have a good professional ethics and a strong enthusiasm of education.

2Establishing ability to comprehend the professional knowledge of music pedagogical discipline, and developing strong teaching skills. Students are able to follow the curriculum standards of music and explore creative class teaching, according to the development characteristics of primary and middle school students.

3Following the basic laws and methods of moral education, well organize the campus music culture, effectively promote the value of aesthetic education in well rounded education among students, and finally achieve the goal of educating people with aesthetic education.

4Based on the realistic situation of local music teaching, combining the local and international dynamic trends of music education reformation, new concepts and new methods are explored to form the ability of continuous learning and independent professional development.

5To adapt to the development of basic music education and the changes of professional development, to become an outstanding music teacher with creativity.

2. Graduation Requirements

Graduates should obtain knowledge and competences as follows: Students have to establish good professional skills and excellent teaching ability; Be able to systematically comprehend of the basic music theory, knowledge and skills of school music education; establish high cultural accomplishment, good music aesthetics , and singing and performance ability; be familiar with education laws and regulations, be able to effectively organize music teaching and guide extracurricular music activities in school; have Strong language expression ability; master modern teaching techniques; be able to use computers to collect, analyze and process information; have good physical and mental health, be positive, innovative and be able to cooperate with other people.
