As for employment prospects, with the rapid development of online education and educational informaionization industry, there is a high demand for education technology professionals in schools, companies, and training institutions. Graduates from the Educational Technology program have broad employment opportunities and prospects for further studies. They can work in government agencies or companies. Founded in 1995, the Educational Technology program in the School of Humanities at Jiangnan University relies on the advantages of being directly under the Ministry of Education and a key university in the national "211 Project". After more than ten years of construction and development, it was awarded as one of the first batch of national first-class undergraduate programs in 2019. It is a branded program, distinctive program, and key program in Jiangsu Province.
The program has a high-level multidisciplinary faculty team, providing important support for the cultivation of compound talents. There are currently 21 full-time teachers, including 4 professors, 13 associate professors, accounting for 81% of the faculty with senior professional titles. 76% of the teachers have overseas study backgrounds, and 66.7% hold a doctoral degree. Among them, there is 1 deputy director of the Ministry of Education's Education Steering Committee, 1 provincial teaching master, 1 outstanding young philosopher and social scientist in the province, 1 outstanding young talent in Jiangsu Province's Purple Gold Culture Talent Development Project, and 1 provincial double innovation doctor. The disciplinary backgrounds cover computer science and technology, education, design, communication, etc.
The program has a provincial key research base in philosophy and social sciences, providing strong support for the two-way interaction of teaching and research. The "Internet + Education" research base is a key research base in philosophy and social sciences in Jiangsu universities and a key research base in humanities and social sciences at Jiangnan University. It is also an important support base for the cultivation of educational technology professionals.
The program has excellent experimental and practical teaching platforms to provide students with a comprehensive educational environment. It has excellent experimental conditions with laboratory equipment assets exceeding RMB 20 million. There are 17 undergraduate specialized laboratories, including teacher education skills training rooms, artificial intelligence teaching laboratories, educational robot laboratories, etc. At the same time, it has established a national university student cultural quality education base, a national primary and secondary school teacher demonstration training base, and a Jiangsu Province principal and teacher training base. It has also established internship and practical training bases with 46 primary and secondary schools, companies, and educational technology museums. The program has formed a three-level group of high-quality courses at the university, provincial, and national levels, including three national quality courses such as "Educational Technology", three provincial quality courses such as "Multimedia Technology", and five key nurturing courses at the university level such as "Online Course Design and Development".

This major cultivates high-quality and versatile teacher candidates who are needed in the field of education in the "Internet+" era and the educational informationization industry. They possess good moral character, humanistic literacy, and a broad international perspective. They have a systematic understanding of the basic theories, methods, and technologies of educational technology. They are capable of engaging in the design, development, management, application, and evaluation of information-based instructional design, digital learning resources and environments, and solving practical problems in the field of educational informationization.
