Xiaocheng Wang graduated from Shandong University with a bachelor degree and obtained her master and doctor degrees at the School of Education, Korea University. She currently works as an associate professor at the Department of Education, School of Humanities, Jiangnan University. In 2019, she was selected in the High-Level Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talents Introduction Program of Jiangsu Province of China. She has actively engaged in reading research for a long time, with particular expertise in reading motivation, reading engagement, adolescent literacy, and digital reading. She has published extensively in Chinese and international journals, including Chinese Social Science Citation Index journals such as Curriculum, Teaching Material and Method, Studies of Psychology and Behavior, Journal of Capital Normal University, and Social Science Citation Index journals such as Journal of Literacy Research, Journal of Research in Reading, Frontiers in Psychology, and Korea Citation Index journals such as Journal of Reading Research, Korean Language Education, and Journal of Curriculum and Evaluation. Moreover, she has published several academic books including Adolescent readers’ book selection and influencing factors and Reading literacy in a digital era: Inspirations from PIRLS and PISA. In addition, she has conducted multiple research projects with respect to adolescent reading, including National Social Science Fund of China, High-Level Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talents Introduction Program of Jiangsu Province of China, Social Science Fund of Shandong Province, Key Project of Educational Science of Jiangsu Province, Humanities and Social Science Research Project of Higher education of Shandong Province, and several university-level projects.
