The base of Jiangnan National Music Research Center of Jiangnan University was setup in July 2017. The base was based on Music department Humanities College Jiangnan University, United Wuxi culture broadcast and new office to co-construct excellent Arts Research Center for a contributions to enhance the Wuxi national music culture and art and the Wuxi culture construction. It devotes to actively create fine cultural products, builds excellent heritage system of traditional cultural, carries forward Chinese excellent traditional culture, strengthens the construction of Chinese traditional culture, and enhances national self-confidence. At the same time, it pays attention to personnel training, and strives to create a new era of employment situation. It will unite Wuxi local outstanding worker in national music to research existing outstanding cultural heritage by a system, regularly creating new works of national music to perform.

Research Center has a number of a high-level teachers to study national music and to create music, of which many are a Doctor, a professor or associate professor who have strong scientific research ability and influence in the field of national music research. At the same time, the center will unite Wuxi local outstanding worker in national music to research existing outstanding cultural heritage by a system, regularly creating new works of national music to perform. It also will publish relevant monographs, publish academic papers, and organize high-level academic forums regularly.

In recent years, the compere and backbone members of research base forge ahead, and hard research so as to get obvious academic achievements. It has been successfully obtained more than 10 provincial and ministerial projects, published more than 30 papers on authoritative core publications, and published more than 20 monographs. It also conducted many high-level national concerts. In the research of national musicology, it accumulates quite rich research foundation and project practice experience.
