The Ancient Literature Research and Traditional Academic Center was established in May 2009, which was based on the talent resource of the school of Humanities of Jiangnan University to establish. It aims at setting up a platform for the study of ancient books collation and traditional academic culture. The research Center takes the ancient book collation as the basic, takes the traditional academic culture research as the auxiliary, and carries on the academic research from many angles. Since it was established, the Research center cooperated with the University of Oxford in organizing the International Symposium on "from Wuxi to Oxford: The Life course and academic achievements of Qian Zhongshu" (2014). It also participated successively in the International Symposium of middot knowledge on 2016, the Academic symposium on the postwar study of Taiwanese classics (2016), Academic Symposium on the Inheritance and spread of ancient Chinese literature and the second annual meeting of Jiangsu Provincial Ancient Literature Association, Academic Symposium of the academic ideas of Tang governing by literature", and the academic meeting like "aesthetic conceptions in Chinese Traditional culture" (2017) hosted by Rao Zongyi Academic Hall of the University of Hong Kong.

The research center currently has more than 10 members, who undertook 10 national, provincial and ministerial projects that were related with the ancient writers’ works, Schools of poetry, the Confucian classics research and so on the domain. It publishes many writing books in the ancient literature research, like "the Dreaming window Word sets note in school" (total six volumes) that has been published by the Zhonghua office, which are outstanding achievements. The center won the Jiangsu Provincial Philosophy and Social Science fine award many times.

The team will further take "ancient literature research and traditional academic" as the center, continue to focus on ancient writers, works, schools and other aspects to research deep, expand the research field, strengthen team building, actively cooperate with the "double class" construction, and strengthen academic research, to contribute to the prosperity of the humanities and social sciences in Jiangnan University.
